A green-fingered community in the heart of London

Who we are

Friends of City Gardens is a community group based in the City of London. Our volunteers include City workers, residents and visitors who live outside the Square Mile and love our green spaces. Together, they contribute over 4,000 volunteer hours a year.

What we do

In addition to weekly volunteer sessions, we also organise a range of activities for all age groups in City gardens, such as curriculum-based sessions for primary schools, bug hunts for families, cultural and art-based events and biodiversity surveys.

Our aim and approach

We support the work and activities of the City Gardens team of the City of London Corporation for the benefit of the local community. That’s our primary aim. Our Constitution shows how we organise ourselves and the procedures we follow to make sure we are doing things properly.

Our funding

We bid for funds from the City of London, from businesses and other funding bodies interested in supporting community welfare and biodiversity.  Contact our Treasurer if you would like to know more about our income and how we spend it.
